Story:
After winning an auction on a server they had. I decided to sign up with Router Hosting and try the service out. I wanted to use the server as a VPS container, and asked to get XEN installed, but they said they cant, so I just asked for CentOS 64bit.

Anyways, the server was deployed a few hours over due, which is not an issue to be honest; but with one IP address. So I open up a support ticket asking for extra IP addresses. Also, I open up a sales ticket asking for direct admin licenses.

So here it begins, a day passes by, and they reply, sorry for the delay and they said they’re going to assign them shortly and It took them almost 12 hours to answer my sales ticket. (I can provide proof of responses and timings if needed ) The sales ticket was resolved to a level of 2/10 and the IP addresses were assigned 10-days after the request!

I tried to contact their REP on WHT explaining my concern; however, I never got a response from him/her aside from the initial responses when I signed up. I’ve been in this industry for quite a while, I have servers from various well respected providers like Netelligent (canada) and Softlayer (usa), and I’ve never encountered any issues similar to this even with other low end provider.

I am very displeased with the service, and I even raged more when I saw they had the guts to issue an invoice after deploying a server to me with one IP address making it unusable to me as a node. Needless to say, I have canceled the service with them.

I am looking for a USA based dedicated server company that will install ESXi. It doesnt need to be a "beast" of a server. Just 4-6gb ram quad core atleast 500GB HD but would prefer 1TB and a metered gigabit connection. – say 5tb monthly. Any ideas?
price point is around 150$ USD monthly.

Our administrator swears that all configuration / versions / setting are the same. Unfortunately prior to going live we conducted some benchmark tests and we see no performance increase at all and with many cases we have seen queries up to 50% slower.

Having selected the hardware I am under pressure to explain to my manager what is going on and with me being the new kid on the block no one is questioning our DBA’s statement that the installation is exactly the same on both the old and new server.

Hi,
I’m currently with a 10Mbits port speed but I could upgrade to 100Mbits. The big questions are:
1- Is 100Mbits 10x faster than 10Mbits (meaning my data would go through 10x faster (when the server is not overloaded) — which I doubt, would be too good to be true)?

2- Or is it just that 100Mbits would allow me to serve more clients at the same time?

I’m running a site with roughly 80,000 page views per day (yes, I’m the guy who posted the question about swap file a few minutes ago), each pv totaling probably around 200-300K.

If I make a simple calculation, here’s what I get (but I may quite be forgetting something in this calculation):

10000000 bits = (10000000 / = 1,250,000 bytes per second

80000 page views / 86400 (the number of seconds per day) = I’m getting 0.92 page views per second.

0.92 * 250,000 = I’m using roughly 231 481 bytes per second. Of course, there are peaks during the day but traffic is quite even.

Yet, does that mean that as soon as I get 5 concurrent page views, I’m already busting my 10Mbits port speed? Or is my calculation completely way off? I also need to take into account that most page views take between 2 and 3 seconds to complete, so I may not even need 5 page views to to bust my 10Mbits… if my logic is right.

I am currently using a BurstNET the server, in the course do not know why the server no way to re-start after the crash, and then after a very long time to wait, BurstNET informed me that the system must be re-installed. In the process of installing the system that my CDKEY have a problem, if there is the problem why the first installation of the system is not told to me? I think the other side there is suspicion of cheating customers, and then, you also told to me that my personal piracy CDKEY event transferred to Microsoft as an excuse for me again to install WIN system.

In this helpless situation, I accept the server to install the Linux system, but I am not very familiar with Linux systems. As before the site has information about hundreds of G, is replaced after the Linux system must be re-copied the data to the new hard drive, by my friends and me many efforts to mount the second hard drive, but can not copy data to the new hard drive, many fee-based services help BurstNET have to refuse my request. I just hope you can help me mount the second hard drive, nothing more.

Install a system to waste a few days, if for all the data from another system, resulting in loss, I will feel very disappointed. I used BurstNET server for months, no problems at all. Once the issue is no help on the delay and I wait. Now the server problems have forced Web site not open for few days. Now is the Linux system you have installed, no way to copy data to new hard drive, I also have tried their best can not mount the second hard drive, help BurstNET only get a cold reply: "As was already noted for you we do not support Xen server in any way. You will need to determine how to mount the old drives within your new system. Any assistance with this would be abnormal support and billed at $ 65 an hour. " Can it really be in addition to money no way to provide some technical support to solve the data copying this problem? If even such a small issue to resolve since there is no need to continue to rent server?

I am thoroughly disappointed, my friends, tell me how to do? Continues to choose it or give up?
